Kawasaki president Kenji Tomida unveiled the Japanese manufacturer’s complete range of roadgoing bikes for 2016 at the EICMA Motorcycle Show in Milan in November. These included an exciting liquid-cooled J125 ABS scooter developed in conjunction with Kymco. There were also sexy Sugomi special-edition versions of the Z800 naked bikes, with dark red and black colour and graphics treatments, anodised fork legs and other components, special wheel-tape rims and – drum roll – Akrapovic exhaust systems. Mr Tomida also revealed details of the production bike that will most probably evolve from the SC-02 Soul Charger supercharged machine that was revealed – in sketch form – at the earlier Tokyo Motor show. The SC-02 looks to be a naked sub-1000cc with forced induction via a supercharger. Motorcycle & Powersports News covered Kawasaki’s input at EICMA pretty comprehensively HERE.
Not all of the models shown will be imported to South Africa.
