Kawasaki Concept at 2015 Tokyo Motor Show

We thought it was unlikely that Kawasaki Heavy Industries’ foray into the field of forced induction would be left to whither on the vine after the supercharged H2 and H2R models were launched, and it seems that we were right. The factory has issued a release on its Rideology website, established to cover its exhibition at this week’s 44th Tokyo Motor Show, announcing that an SC 01 Concept motorcycle is in the works and the design will be revealed in Tokyo this week. SC apparently stands for “Spirit Charger” but there’s a blower tucked away in the artistic representation included with the announcement. To nail home their point, the factory says in the blurb that “following the release of the revolutionary 2015 Ninja H2 and Ninja H2R, Kawasaki has continued working on the design of supercharged motorcycle engines. The new Balanced Supercharged Engine, designed for both exhilarating acceleration and superlative fuel economy, will deliver an all-new riding experience.” The engine shown in the “Products” section of the website is clearly a four-cylinder unit, but there’s no hint as to its capacity.

We await further developments with great interest….
